What you need to know before leaving
From January 1, 2025, citizens of visa-free countries, including Israel, are required to obtain an ETA-IL to enter countries with a simplified visa regime. The permit is issued online 72 hours before the trip, valid for 2 years or until the passport expires.
Israeli citizens are required to use their national passport when entering/leaving the country, even if they have dual citizenship. Violation entails a fine of up to $2,700.
Special features of staying in different countries:
- Eurozone countries allow a stay of up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
- In the United States, the ESTA program allows a stay of 90 days per visit with multiple entries within 2 years.
- The UAE has a visa-free regime for 90 days, for diplomatic passports - 180 days.
In 2025, it is planned to introduce a visa-free regime with China, Vietnam, the Philippines, as well as integration into the simplified access system to Southeast Asia ASEAN Travel Pass.
