Citizens of the Republic face various requirements when crossing international borders. Among the popular destinations, the following features can be highlighted:

• To visit the Schengen countries, citizens of Kazakhstan must obtain a Schengen visa. It is issued for both single and multiple entries for up to 90 days of stay within a 180-day period.
• Entry to the United States is only possible with a visa through the provision of a full package of documents and an interview.
  
• Australia, Canada and most other developed countries require citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan to obtain a preliminary visa.
  
• There is a visa-free regime between Russia and Kazakhstan. It allows you to stay in the Russian Federation for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. The host party must submit a notification of the arrival of a foreign citizen within 3 days after entry.
  
• On November 10, 2023, the Kazakhstan-China agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements came into force. The period of stay should not exceed 30 calendar days from the date of crossing the border. The total stay must not exceed 90 calendar days within 180 calendar days.
