Where can Slovak citizens apply for eTA
An eTA is not a visa, but a travel authorization that is linked to the traveler’s passport. The eTA process usually takes only a few minutes, and once approved, the document is linked to your passport. 26 countries allow Slovaks to enter with an electronic authorization for a stay of up to 90 days.

What you need to know before leaving
Slovakia has a number of special agreements that expand the travel options for its citizens:
- They can stay in the Schengen area for an unlimited period of time.
- To travel to the United States, you need to obtain an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization), which is valid for two years and allows multiple trips with a stay of up to 90 days each. Similar systems operate for Canada (eTA) and Australia (eVisitor).
- When traveling to most Latin American countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Colombia, a stay of up to 90 days is allowed.
- In the Middle East, the terms vary. For example, in the UAE, citizens of Slovakia can stay up to 90 days.
Notable is the visa-free regime with Belarus, extended until December 31, 2025, according to which Slovaks can stay in Belarus for up to 90 days during a calendar year. It is also worth noting the possibility of visa-free travel to China, which is not available to all EU citizens.
To visit the Schengen countries, it is sufficient that the passport remains valid for at least 3 months after the date of departure. However, for most other countries (about 93% of the world's countries), the passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of departure.
