Where Cypriot citizens can apply for eTA

Cypriots can travel to 179 countries of the world without a visa. This is almost 80% of the total number of countries in the world. To enter the remaining destinations, you will need to request a visa in advance.

Cyprus and Ireland are the only EU countries that are not part of the Schengen area. However, this does not create problems for Cypriot citizens. They do not need a Schengen visa to visit all countries of the Schengen Agreement.

As of early 2025, the United States plans to include Cyprus in the list of countries whose citizens are allowed visa-free entry. Currently, an electronic permit (ESTA) is required to enter, valid for 2 years. At the same time, in 2024, citizens of the Republic of Cyprus were granted the right to visa-free entry to China.

With a Cypriot passport, you can visit almost all Latin American countries without a visa, with the exception of Cuba, Puerto Rico and Guyana. In addition, Cypriot citizens do not need a visa to enter Canada and even Greenland.
