What you need to know before leaving

Luxembourg citizens have the right to an unlimited stay in any EU country with a valid ID. Different rules apply for non-European destinations.

• To enter the USA, an ESTA electronic authorization is required for 2 years with the possibility of a continuous stay of up to 90 days per visit.
• In the UK, a stay of up to 6 months is allowed without a visa with a return ticket and proof of financial solvency.
• For trips to India, an e-Visa for 60 days with the possibility of double entry is available.
• Luxembourg has a simplified visa regime with Russia, but an invitation from the host is required.
• From March 2025, Australia will tighten the rules for Luxembourg citizens - a certificate of no criminal record is required.
