Where German citizens can apply for an eTA
Visiting 23 countries will require an electronic visa (eVisa), which is an online travel authorization that you request online without visiting an embassy or consulate.
It is important to note that an eTA is not a visa, but a travel authorization that is linked to the traveler's passport. This avoids the lengthy procedures associated with traditional visas. The process of obtaining an eTA usually takes only a few minutes, and once approved, the document is linked to your passport.

What you need to know before you leave
The UK requires electronic authorization (ETA) after Brexit, Canada has introduced similar requirements from 2024. Some countries have a rule of mandatory registration at the place of stay. For example, in Thailand, a hotel will automatically register you, but when renting accommodation through Airbnb, you need to submit the notification yourself.
Most Schengen countries have a 90/180 rule for Germans (maximum 90 days within 180 days), but, for example, you can stay in Georgia for up to 365 days without a visa.
Some countries require additional documents:
1. Singapore may ask for proof of sufficient funds.
2. Turkey requires a passport with a minimum of 150 days to expiration before entry.
3. The UAE may refuse entry if the passport has a record of a visit to Israel.
