What you need to know before leaving

Holders of Argentine passports enjoy the privilege of visa-free entry to all Schengen countries. In addition to the Schengen countries, Argentine citizens can visit such European countries as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Greenland, Albania, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Turkey without a visa. This allows Argentines to travel almost all of Europe without a visa.

Among the main world destinations, the following conditions should be highlighted:

• Argentine citizens can enter the United States without a visa under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), but must have a valid electronic passport and register with the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) system 72 hours before travel. A visa is not required for tourism or business trips of up to 90 days.
• The United Kingdom can be entered without a visa for tourism or business trips of up to 6 months. However, you must have a valid passport and meet the requirements for visa-free entry.
• When travelling to Australia, you will need an eVisitor or a tourist or business visa.
• China requires a visa, but offers special conditions for transit passengers.
