Polish citizens cannot enter 23 countries without a visa, including Russia, North Korea, China, Syria and a number of African countries (Niger, Chad, Central African Republic). A 16-day electronic visa is required to visit the Russian Federation.
Citizens of the country have the right to unlimited residence, employment and study in any EU country. A national ID card is sufficient for moving, without additional permits.
Since May 2025, ETIAS has been introduced - electronic authorization for visa-free entry into the Schengen area for third-country nationals. The system is not mandatory for Poles, but it confirms the strengthening of border controls within the borders of the European Union.
A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into 27 countries in Africa and South America (Ghana, Peru, Kenya). In Saudi Arabia, a meningococcal vaccination is required during the Hajj.
For 93% of countries, the minimum remaining validity of a passport is 6 months. Exceptions:
