Top 10 countries with the highest Internet speed
You will find the fastest Internet in Qatar, where the average speed reaches 286.42 Mbit/s. Qatar has one of the highest Internet speeds in the world thanks to huge investments in telecommunications infrastructure. The government is actively developing 5G technologies and providing access to the network for the entire population, which contributes to economic growth and digitalization of various sectors. The UAE is in second place with a speed of 284.21 Mbit/s. This average speed was achieved due to government support for digital initiatives. And Kuwait is in third place (216.96 Mbps).
South Korea is on the fourth line of the rating, where the average Internet traffic speed reaches 173.95 Mbit/s. It is followed by Denmark (157.94 Mbit/s), China (144.85 Mbit/s), Norway (141.4 Mbit/s) and Iceland (136.91 Mbit/s) and the Netherlands (134.15 Mbit/s). 5G technology is actively spreading in all these countries, and the authorities are investing in the development of networks and technology startups.
Saudi Arabia is also among the top ten (125.19 Mbit/s), which contributes to improving the quality of Internet services for businesses and citizens, in accordance with the goals of Vision 2030.
Montenegro is not among the top 10 countries with the highest Internet speeds, but the country's government is actively developing telecommunications infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for digital nomads. Top 10 countries with the lowest Internet speed
East Timor (3.34), Cuba (3.84), Afghanistan (5.07), Sudan (7.5), Tajikistan (8.14), Haiti (8.38), Yemen (8.87), Bolivia (9.92), Venezuela (11.43), Belarus (11.86).
The slowest Internet in East Timor is only 3.34 Mbps. East Timor suffers from low Internet speeds due to limited infrastructure and lack of investment in telecommunications technology due to the country's poverty. It is followed by a Cube with almost the same speed — 3.84 Mbit/s. There, the low Internet speed is due to both economic difficulties and the state monopoly on telecommunications services. And Afghanistan is on the third line with a speed of 5.07 Mbit/s due to the almost completely destroyed communications infrastructure.
Next on the list are Sudan (7.5 Mbit/s), Tajikistan (8.14 Mbit/s), Haiti (8.38 Mbit/s), Yemen (8.87 Mbit/s), Bolivia (9.92 Mbit/s) and Venezuela (11.43 Mbit/s). In all these States, infrastructure is underdeveloped, either due to military conflicts, poverty, or constant devastating natural disasters, as in the case of Haiti.
And Belarus closes the top ten with a speed of 11.86 Mbit/s. Despite a fairly developed network, the slow Internet speed in the country is achieved due to the total control of the government over telecommunications services and constant blocking of communications.
