Top 10 countries with the best healthcare system
The top three in the ranking were captured by Asian countries, where high-quality medicine is highly appreciated.
The best healthcare system in Taiwan today (158.2 points in the ranking). The national health insurance program provides access to all necessary services at a low cost, and the state also initiates the introduction of the latest technologies into the public sector of medicine.
The second place in 2024 is occupied by the Republic of Korea (151.3 points). High investments in technology allow Korea to remain at the forefront of medicine. The country has a high life expectancy and a low infant mortality rate.
Japan is in third place (144.5 points) with its high-tech equipment and innovative treatment methods. Due to the strong increase in life expectancy, there are already so many elderly people in Japan today that the pension system is practically unable to cope, and the country constantly has to raise taxes.
Starting from the 4th place, the leaders of the rating are European countries. The Netherlands (144.3) offers one of the most effective health systems due to a combination of compulsory insurance and an emphasis on preventive medicine and early diagnosis. Next are Denmark (143.6), France (142.8), Spain (142.6) and Finland (140.9). The ninth place is occupied by Thailand (140.5) with its "universal health coverage" policy. And closes the top ten health care systems — the Estonian system (140.1) with affordable "e-health".
At the same time, Spain not only occupies one of the leading places in Europe in terms of the quality of healthcare, but also offers ideal conditions for life and personal well-being. Spanish legislation provides immigrants with the opportunity to obtain a long-term residence permit, which at the same time opens the door to a high level of medical care. To do this, there are various types of residence permits provided, allowing you to accurately select the appropriate basis for moving.
Top 10 countries with the lowest-performing healthcare system
The most inefficient health care system, according to experts, is now in Venezuela (67.8 points). The country is experiencing a humanitarian crisis. Economic difficulties and political instability have led to shortages of medicines and equipment, as well as a drain on medical personnel. The health care system requires urgent reform in order to restore access to basic health services.
Bangladesh is in second place from the end of the ranking (72.4 points). There are not enough medical institutions and specialists in the country. Despite significant progress in improving indicators in recent decades, many residents still do not have access to quality medical care. Infrastructural problems and high levels of poverty exacerbate the situation, as a result of which many diseases remain undiagnosed and neglected. There are serious challenges, including the need to increase the level of vaccination and improve the nutrition of the population in order to reduce the incidence rate.
Morocco is also almost at the very end of the rating (77 points). The State suffers from a lack of financing for healthcare and infrastructure problems. High-quality medical care is often unavailable in remote areas, which significantly reduces the level of public health.
Other countries with significant medical problems are Iraq (78), Egypt (81.7), Azerbaijan (82.9), Nigeria (84.2), Belarus (84.7), Albania (86.1) and Malta (90.8). The latter, despite the high standard of living in the country and its efforts to improve health care, faces a shortage of medical resources and high costs for medical services, which makes them less accessible to the population.
