After 4 years of residence it is possible to obtain a residence permit, and after another year - to apply for citizenship. Legalizing your residence in Sweden allows you to travel to the Schengen zone countries, take loans on the same terms used for Swedish citizens, receive education, free treatment in clinics and do business on the same terms as natives.

In addition to the traditional ways, typical for other EU states, residence permit for Sweden is issued when requesting refugee status. Russians, Belarusians and other foreigners who do not live in the territory of the confederation, if desired, have the opportunity to obtain a residence permit for Sweden.
