Passport of Romania

Romanian citizenship is considered the most accessible compared to other EU countries. A citizen has the right to legally reside in the country, receive education, and work. They can travel visa-free to 170 countries. Starting from March 31, 2024, after the country joins the Schengen Area, a Romanian passport will allow its holder to move within the Schengen territory without mandatory customs procedures. The internal document is an ID card that includes the holder's personal information. The passport is issued in the form of a booklet with a burgundy cover. In the center is the Romanian coat of arms, and there is an EU inscription.
