Passport of Poland

The conditions for obtaining a Polish passport are determined by the legislative act "On Citizenship," which is the main document regarding immigration matters. The identity document officially confirms the status of a Polish and European Union citizen. It is issued in two forms. The ID card contains complete information about the holder. It is issued upon request after reaching the age of 12 and is mandatory after reaching adulthood. The passport, allowing unhindered travel abroad, is in the form of a booklet with a burgundy cover featuring the country's coat of arms in the central part and an embedded microchip. The document is valid for 10 years when issued to individuals over 13 years old. If the passport holder has not reached this age, the validity period is limited to 5 years.
