Passport of Belgium

The Belgian passport confirms the citizenship of the holder and serves as identification outside the kingdom. Passports have a standard design for the EU. The cover is adorned with the coat of arms of Belgium and inscriptions: "European Union" and "Passport" in three official languages. The standard passports are valid for 7 years. Belgium is a member of the European Union and the Schengen Area.

A holder of a kingdom passport has the right to:

  • legally reside and work in EU countries;
  • visit 173 countries visa-free;
  • conduct business in a simplified manner;
  • receive medical services in EU countries under a common insurance scheme.
