When entering Indonesia, you are required to fill out an electronic form

This initiative is designed to reduce the likelihood of the monkey pox virus entering the country. The form can be filled out using the link where you need to list the places that have been visited during the last month, the presence of symptoms of smallpox monkeys, as well as information about contacts with people who have signs of mpox.

Symptoms of this virus:

  • fever;
  • headache;
  • muscle and back pain;
  • enlarged lymph nodes;
  • chills and fatigue;
  • rash that goes through stages from spots to blisters and crusts (usually starts on the face and then spreads to other parts of the body, including palms and feet);
  • sore throat and cough (in some cases).

Symptoms usually appear within 6-13 days after infection, but the incubation period can vary from 5 to 21 days.

Attention!

After you fill out the questionnaire, a kewar code will be automatically created. It will need to be presented at the airport security control.

Disease statistics in Indonesia

As of August 2024, there have been 88 confirmed cases of smallpox in Indonesia. The largest number of cases was recorded in 2023 — 73, while 14 more cases were added in 2024. Most of the infections occurred on the islands of Java and Riau. By now, all patients have successfully recovered. The disease is mainly transmitted through close contact, including sexual contact. As a preventive measure, the country has purchased vaccines and continues to strengthen sanitary measures.

Kyrgyzstan also checks travelers with a thermal imager

This was stated by Sultan Suranbayev, an expert from the GSEN Department. He also noted that if an increase in temperature indicators and other signs of the disease are detected, the necessary measures will be taken, including PCR testing. The Kyrgyz Republic has implemented a system for responding to viral diseases, and medical specialists are well aware of the procedure.

The Ministry of Health of the country recommends that relocators who choose regions with registered cases of the disease as vacations should not neglect safety and preventive measures. At the moment, no cases of infection have been recorded in the country.
