Residence Permit of Greece

The use of plastic ID-card for residence permit issuance in Greece started in 2017. At the same time, its issuance to citizens residing in third countries belonging to the EU changed. Obtaining a residence permit is mandatory for everyone who plans to live and work in the country for more than 90 days a year. Greece is part of the Schengen agreement, which allows, having obtained a permit in it, to move around other Schengen states.

Citizens of various countries, including Russia, can obtain a residence permit of Greece. At the same time, this status does not allow a person to participate in elections, serve in the army or hold public office. Residence permit is issued for a period of 5 years, after which a person can apply for permanent residence, and after another 5 years - for citizenship. Greece is characterized by a pleasant climate and beautiful nature, combating crisis phenomena in the economy and allows you to get a decent salary when employed or doing your own business.
